Bob's Meets Janet-our Donor Mom

I am so very excited about my visit this past weekend with some dear friends that I have never met face-to-face before, I have not decided how to post this exciting story with other FB friends. After corresponding VIA email for almost 9yrs,... I finally was highly honored to meet Donor Mom Janet Keller and her wonderful hubby "Donor Dad" Dave. Their beloved 14yr old son Joseph"Joe" drowned in raging waters of a Low Head Dam, attempting to save a friend's life, loosing his own precious life during that heroic attempt back in 1994. Joe's organs were donated for transplant so that others could live. Janet and Dave were enoying their flight on American Airlines from California back home to Pennsylvania and had a 5hr layover at DFW Airport near Dallas Tx. We decided to take advantage of that 5hr layover and I drove 230 miles north from my home to finally meet these wonderful people. I have surely grown to love these folks, since I owe my own life to a heart donor and his compassionate family myself. Janet and I can be seen here, posing with 2 beautiful teddy bears that she made as a beutiful tibute to their son Joe. She affectionately calls these 2 teddy bears "Joe Bears". Over the past yrs, Janet and her beautiful family continue to make these teddy bears for many other families, even in UK. Please notice the tee-shirt Janet is wearing, a reproduction of gift I sent to her 8yrs ago.
